The Solar System

The solar system consists of the sun, the eight planets, and other celestial bodies including dwarf planets, asteroids, and comets.

<Eight planets>

Mercury: The planet closest to the sun. It is the smallest planet.

Venus: The hottest planet because of its thick layer of clouds.

Earth: Our home planet.

Mars: This planet has many volcanoes and deep canyons.

Jupiter: The largest planet. It is made up of gasses. It has a giant swirling called the Great Red Spot.

Saturn: This planet is known for its beautiful rings which are made of small pieces of ice and rocks.

Uranus: This planet looks blue green because its atmosphere contains methane.

Neptune: The planet farthest from the sun. It looks blue because its atmosphere contains methane.

太陽系たいようけいは、太陽たいようと8やっつの惑星わくせいと、準惑星じゅんわくせい、小惑星しょうわくせい、彗星すいせいなど、他ほかの天体てんたいからなります。

＜８つの惑星＞

水星すいせい：太陽に最もっとも近ちかい惑星。最も小ちいさい惑星です。

金星きんせい：厚あつい雲くもの層そうがあるため、最も熱あつい惑星です。

地球ちきゅう：私わたしたちが住すんでいる惑星です。

火星かせい：火山かざんや深ふかい谷たにがあります。

木星もくせい：最も大おおきい惑星。ガスでできています。大赤だいせきはんと呼よばれる巨大きょだいな渦うずがあります。

土星どせい：氷こおりや岩石がんせきの粒つぶでできた美うつくしい環わで知しられています。

天王星てんのうせい：大気たいきがメタンを含ふくむため、青緑色あおみどりいろに見みえます。

海王星かいおうせい：太陽から最も遠とおい惑星。大気がメタンを含むため、青色あおいろに見えます。
