Here is the summary of my classes during Week 3.
In Beginning English, I taught my students the present continuous tense so that they could describe everyday activities. They also learned possessive adjectives and practiced using them correctly.
In Business English, I provided reproduction training again. My students are beginning to enjoy speaking English using this method.
In Technical Writing, I continued to teach my students how to write instruction manuals clearly and concisely.
As for verbs, I explained how to use have, send, and start/begin effectively. I pointed out that have is a versatile verb and that transmit can often be replaced with send. I also explained that start and begin are generally interchangeable, but when referring to operating a machine, only start is used.
No: The machine is equipped with a control system. (May sound too formal.)
Yes: The machine has a control system. (Concise.)
No: The sensor transmits signals to the device. (May sound too formal.)
Yes: The sensor sends signals to the device. (Concise.)
No: Begin the machine. (This doesn’t make sense.)
Yes: Start the machine.
In Engineering English, I continued to teach names related to designing, covering both the pre-production and production phases. We not only read the text but also practiced understanding it through listening activities.
