Here is the summary of my classes this week.
In Beginning English, I asked my students to produce passages based on model passages. They can now use the present continuous tense and adjectives to describe different situations depicted in pictures. They are getting more and more used to speaking English.
In Business English, I asked my students to translate conversational passages from Japanese into English. The text was about greetings, social networking, and daily routines. I also taught them how to ask questions politely using indirect questions starting with “May I ask…?” or “Could you tell me …?”
There was no Technical Writing lesson this week.
In Engineering English, I taught my students about electricity. Since they specialize in this field, it was easy for them to memorize the related terms. We read an article about drones. When I explained how semiconductors work, I also referred to several types of materials.
